Thank You for an Incredible Start

When we started Carrie & Co. Cactus, the idea was pretty simple: build the kind of cactus business we would want to buy from ourselves.

We wanted to offer unusual plants that make you stop scrolling for a second. Mature specimens, strange forms, variegates, collector plants, and the occasional cactus that makes even another cactus person ask, “What is that?”

Over the past several weeks, that idea has become much more real than we expected.

We've packed a lot of boxes. We've met collectors from across the country. And we've watched some genuinely special plants leave our collection and become part of someone else's.

So, first and foremost: thank you.

Our website is officially live

The launch of Carrie & Co. Cactus online is another big step for our small business.

Until now, much of what we've sold has moved through marketplaces and social media. Those platforms have helped us meet a lot of you, and we're not going anywhere. But we wanted a place of our own where we could present our plants the way we think they deserve to be presented.

Our website gives us that home.

It's a place where you can browse the current collection, learn more about the plants we carry, find growing information, and keep up with new arrivals and future drops.

More importantly, it gives us room to grow without losing what made this fun in the first place.

The plants will always come first

We're cactus collectors ourselves.

That influences just about everything we do.

We know what it's like to spend months looking for a particular plant. We know the excitement of finally finding one. We also know the slightly ridiculous feeling of checking tracking for the fifth time that day even though the cactus definitely hasn't moved since the last time you checked.

That's part of collecting.

It's also why we don't want Carrie & Co. to become a store filled with hundreds of interchangeable plants.

We'd rather find interesting specimens with character.

Some will be rare. Some will be old. Some will be beautifully grown examples of familiar species. Others will be weird enough that we're not entirely sure who is going to buy them, but we know somebody out there is going to love them.

Those are usually our favorites.

Your support has meant a lot

The number of orders we've received as we've built Carrie & Co. has been incredibly encouraging.

Every order matters to a small business like ours.

When someone trusts us with a several-hundred-dollar collector plant, buys their first unusual cactus from us, sends us a photo after their plant arrives, or simply follows along to see what shows up next, we notice.

We're also learning as we grow.

We're improving our photography, packaging, website, plant selection, and the information we provide with each step. We want the experience of buying from Carrie & Co. to feel personal even as the business gets bigger.

There will always be another improvement we want to make.

That's okay.

We're building this for the long haul.

There's a lot more coming

We already have more unusual plants on the way, along with specimens we're growing and preparing for future releases.

You'll continue to see Ariocarpus, Astrophytum, Copiapoa, Gymnocalycium, unusual forms, variegated plants, mature specimens, and plenty of things that don't fit neatly into a category.

Some drops will be larger. Others may consist of only a handful of plants.

That's part of the fun.

If something exceptional becomes available, we want the freedom to offer it rather than waiting until we have enough plants to fill a giant release.
